Dining Out Dress Code

On today's post i'm breaking down the dining out dress codes, because sometimes you're are invited to a restaurant that has specific a dress code.
Dining out is a nice opportunity to dress well. You should put some effort, because you don't know if you can get a business deal or meet someone special. I'm here to give you some guidance to help you to look at your best.

(Sorry! Polyvore image lost: I'm still trying to find it.)

CASUAL:

It doesn't mean that you can go out with anything as long as you're covered. You're still going to a restaurant. Just wear nice jeans, a decent top and a real pair of shoes
You can get away with any type of jeans, even light washed jeans or ripped jeans. You can get away with a t-shirt, as long as you still look put together. You can get away with trainers, but forget the beaten up trainers, running shoes or flip-flops. Avoid workout clothes.

BUSINESS CASUAL:

You usually find this dress code at restaurants specialized in business affairs, co-working spaces...
This dress code has two components. The more important aspect is business. It has casual on it because it doesn't mean that you have to dress like you're going to work. You still have to look appropriate because, as i said, business is the more important aspect.
I suggest you to wear suit separates (not like a full suit), for example: a nice pair of jeans (i mean dark washed basic jeans), a pretty blouse, a blazer, a decent pair of shoes (like loafers) and a great tote bag (where you can keep your laptop and business papers).

CASUAL ELEGANT:

It can be a little bit confusing, but you should be focused on the first word. It's a casual look. more dressed up than jeans, but not too dressed up that you ending up looking formal. Just put a sundress on and call it a day.

FORMAL:

Dining out formal is not the same as going to a wedding or a prom. These days women don't wear long gowns to dine out.
Just wear a cocktail dress. You can also wear dressy separate pieces, like a dressy one-shoulder top and nice dressy trousers, or a dressy jumpsuit. It's all about dressy clothes with a bold necklace or long earrings.
Heels are more than welcome. You can wear flats if you can't handle high heels or you just appreciate comfort, but leave trainers and espadrilles at home.

When i mentioned dressy trousers, i really meant it. Please, don't wear jeans. It says formal for a reason.

JACKET REQUIRED:

It's the dressiest of the dining out dress codes. It doesn't mean that women need to wear jackets, it refers to men wearing suits. I still think you don't need a long gown just to dining out, but you can definitely wear it when the restaurant dress code is "jacket required".
Keep in mind that is time to dress up and shine with formal clothes, tiny clutches and nice jewelry. Once again, heels are more than welcome.
Please pay attention to the every detail of your outfit. You hair has to be impeccable, your makeup on point and your nails done.

If you don't like the outfit ideas i shown, just understand each concept and make it work for your style.
